It must be about time to take stock, it’s been a really busy few years and I have just been caught in the flow of it all, time moving forward, projects going on, shows and gigs, and so many songs and compositions and creative adventures, actually the last few years has been rather strange to be honest. I feel like I have been in a bit of a creative dream world, my withdrawal from social media, not completely but enough to put a line in the sand as an artist not willing to join the narrative or circus of 5 second attention spans, AI content takeovers, streaming platforms getting richer, people making no money, loosing hope, nothing but OF bots and a blur of endless data giving everyone distraction in exchange for metrics to sell advertising, like some global junk market and the cost is all your time in which we are all broke anyway and just limit myself to photos and music and random creative jams. I am loving the peace of my mind not being full of all that noise, over the last few years the larger scale concepts and albums I have been working on have taken shape and resulted in an album sitting at 95% completion along with several game and film soundtracks and projects and various collaborations and creative partnerships.
So, about that, it all formed from an idea many years ago called ‘Infinity Forever’ which was a release of what I called sketches and a story to go along with it all, basically, I have expanded it and sorted out the concept into 3 albums and almost some form of musical cinematic universe to go along with it all, It’s called ‘Time, Space, Love Volumes 1-3′ and the first volume has 15 tracks on it, I will go more into it all later, but for now, I am just taking creative stock on where I am at on a creative level. As an artist with a musical career as long as mine (most of my life) and various levels of success and failures, I think it’s a great time to sort all that out, basically, a bit of world building and lore, retcon my overall vision for Module and the music I create and the worlds and characters to go along with it all.
Music itself is such a limiting format, you are a thing making a thing for people to listen and react to, where in a narrative structure I can do a bit more and essentially the music is a soundtrack for a bigger world and I am not tied into the format of releasing music as music, that way when you do your own thing, no one can compare it to anything, they just like it or not, but Module has always been about that, it’s just between being a composer for films and video games, the many types of music I can create and do, it might have got a bit lost in others perception, and I don’t know if that’s the case, but I feel like I just need to clean things up. But, there is something to be said about existing outside the confines of that anyway and being something much more than people think you are, but that’s only if people take the time to actually look, which does happen sometimes, so I really am just cleaning up the overall of all my creative work into a format that gets that across quickly, nicer and well, more cohesive, if I was a painter or a visual artist, that would be the same as not having paintings all over the studio floor and actually framing them, hanging them up in the gallery of public eye and letting people know I have done so, maybe sell tickets metaphorically, share my creative vision in a format that can be absorbed.
But yeah, long story short, well, long story not as long as a long story but close enough, I feel like I have been somewhere else for years and I am just coming back with stories of my creative adventures in the form of finished albums and yeah, setting the path and pushing forward, I mean, what else would I do? creativity is just that in all its many forms, proof of some type of thing, be that a thought to an experience and shared out loud through whatever medium over time, so with all that, I will keep you updated.
